The usual suspects turned up for our 10th Anniversary Reunion in Guzz at the Copthorne Hotel, those traveling furthest was Jan & Jackie Blain from France, but nobody from the Plymouth area! others came from the north of England, South Wales, Portsmouth and the Midlands to join in the festivities.Friday evening was the usual pint and natter, Saturday was an early start with the AGM at 9.15 quickly followed by a trip around the Plymouth Gin Distillery for late breakfast hic. As usual the ladies went off Shopping in Plymouth City Centre and the guys stayed in the Barbican area for various samples of good and not so good real ale, lunch was Cornish Pasties, but not from Ivor Dewdney's unfortunately.
The Reunion Dinner was attended by Tony and Janice dressed in their full wedding attire in honour of those who were unable to attend their real wedding in June, a great idea and everyone gave them a great welcome. The Dinner was consumed with gusto, followed by the Prize Raffle and a dastardly wicked Competition organised by the Secretary, followed by more refreshment until the early hours of Sunday.
Sunday was a very late breakfast for some (did you make it Tony?) others zoomed off back to their Home Ports having had another great weekend with old shipmates promising to do it all over again next year.
The venue and date for 2014 is open for discussion but will probably be in the Midlands, all ideas considered let the Secretary know when/where you would like it to be.
