Reunion 2017 in Worcester

Another successful AGM and Reunion completed, the venue was excellent and we were well looked after by Mohammed and his Team in the Fownes Hotel. We had our own 'JUPITER LOUNGE' for the Friday night Buffet, for the AGM on the Saturday morning and the Dinner on Saturday night. The Pub Crawl was close at hand in the Town, whilst some of the guys went to see the local Rugby match, others hit the Shops or other attractions.

The local Sea Cadets attended on Saturday Night with their Standard and used their Bosun's Calls to announce UP SPIRITS and Hands to Dinner, many thanks to their CO CPO Rob McCarthy and 1st Lt. CPO Martin Griffiths for turning out an exemplary team. The Association made a contribution from the proceeds of the Raffle to the Sea Cadet Unit as a thanks for all their efforts.

Our President presented a Jupiter Plaque to CPO McCarthy to commemorate the occasion and Jackie Blain presented Lady Jane with a bouquet of flowers.

The AGM was completed in record time chaired by Jan Blain, the Committee remained the same, the finances were proved sound, Membership was steady but needed to be increased to make occasions more fresh and new ideas etc.

It was proposed that Whitby would be scouted to see if we could have the next Reunion & AGM in the area, Ged Smith and Jock O'Neil were asked to investigate. It was also agreed to have the 2019 Reunion at the NMA/Lichfield to commemorate the Anniversaries of 80th Anniversary of F85 being Commissioned, 50th Anniversary of F60 being Commissioned and the 15th Anniversary of the Jupiter Association, the Secretary to organise.

BATTLE OF THE JAVA SEA

I have recently received this YOUTUBE File from the Dutch Ministry of Defense with the following note to explain.

In commemoration of the 75th Battle of the Java Sea, the Netherlands Institute of Military History (NIMH) made a animation of that battle in Dutch. Due to the great attention we decided to make an international (English)  edition and placed this on our Youtube channel:

This animation could be interesting for you so we decided to contact you.

The NIMH is a Dutch historical institute of the Ministry of Defence.
