HMS JUPITER ASSOCIATION - INTRODUCTION TO PROPOSED WELFARE SECTION.

Hi,

My name is Simon Hutt and I'd like to introduce myself as the HMS JUPITER Association Welfare Co-Ordinator.  I am supported by fellow shipmates Ben Turner and Michael Wishart.

The purpose of this role is to provide help and support to fellow shipmates who are faced with difficult times in their lives. This can be someone to talk too or by providing an introduction to a Veterans Support group who provide professional help and support. We are also able to provide an introduction to a number of other professional support group dependent upon individual needs.

The chief qualification for the role is having a clear passion for the well being of fellow ship mates. I speak from experience when I say there have been low points in my life where I have valued the care and compassion from those around me. So please don’t feel alone, reach out and use our support group.

HMS JUPITER Association is committed to welcoming all ex-serving ships company members as a mechanism of providing an enjoyable and friendly environment to meet fellow ship mates and to reminisce on past experiences and memories.  So if you are not a member already please come along and join our friendly association.

As the Association Welfare Coordinator, I will act as first point of contact for any shipmate who would like to discuss a situation they are face with or simply feel alone and wish to talk to someone. Please feel free to contact me on 07920 230618 or e-mail me at hutt_simon@yahoo.co.uk

Alternatively, Ben and Michael can be contacted as follows:

2021 REUNION AND AGM - REPORT

This year’s event was a huge success with nearly 60 people attending, pictures will be on the Gallery page soon. This was the first year that we were able to display a Ships Bell, usually kept by Middlesbrough Town Council, in its new display stand.

The AGM was again well attended and the Committee were given new responsibilities including a Welfare Co-Ordinator and Events Manager.
